Furnace tune-up · Douglas County

The First Frost Check.
$149. Before the freeze.

A complete furnace tune-up and safety inspection - the visit that catches the $180 part in October instead of the no-heat emergency on the first ten-degree night in December. Members: included in the Plan.

What you get - the actual checklist

21 points. No mystery, no upsell script.

This is the same checklist on the tech's tablet. If something's wrong, you get the published repair range and an exact quote before any work - and if nothing's wrong, we tell you that, because that's the whole point of us.

Combustion & safety

Heat exchanger inspection, gas pressure measured and set for your altitude, flame quality, venting and draft check.

Ignition & controls

Ignitor health measured (not guessed), flame sensor cleaned, safety switches tested, thermostat calibration.

Airflow & wear

Blower motor amp draw, capacitor test, filter check and replacement, evaporator coil inspected for restriction, temperature rise measured against the manufacturer plate - and the cabinet interior vacuumed out before we close it up.

The report

Photos of what we saw, readings on paper, and a plain-English verdict: good for winter, watch this part, or fix this now - with the published price.

Why altitude matters for your furnace

Douglas County homes sit at 6,000–6,600 feet. Thin air changes gas combustion - furnaces that were never adjusted for altitude run rich, waste fuel, and stress heat exchangers. Checking gas pressure against elevation is a standard line on our checklist, and it's the item most often missed by techs dispatched from sea-level playbooks.

The Fall Double: both fall jobs, one visit, $218.

Book the First Frost Check and the sprinkler blowout together and save $30 - one truck roll, your furnace ready for the first cold night and your sprinklers winterized, done in a single appointment.

$149 once - or included every year, automatically.

Hearthlight Plan members get the First Frost Check and the spring First Scorcher Check included, scheduled for them, plus member pricing on everything else. From $190/year.

First Frost questions

When should I book a furnace tune-up in Colorado?

September or October - before the first hard freeze, when parts are in stock and calendars aren't slammed. Furnaces fail on the first cold night because that's their first real workout in six months; the First Frost Check is that workout, supervised.

Is $149 the real price or a bait rate?

It's the real price - it's published, it doesn't change on arrival, and our techs don't carry sales quotas. If a repair is needed you'll see the published range and approve the exact number before work starts.

What if you find something serious?

You get photos, readings, and options with published prices - repair first whenever repair is the honest answer. A cracked heat exchanger is the one finding that ends a visit immediately, because that's a carbon monoxide risk, and we'll show you the crack, not just tell you.
